Filipinos, especially those in Luzon, may have to endure hot weather with temperatures of as high as 36 degrees Celsius this coming Holy Week, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
In its special weather outlook for the Holy Week, PAGASA also said scattered rainshowers may be expected in parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.
“For Luzon, generally good weather condition associated with warm and humid temperature ranging from 24-36 degree Celsius in plain areas and 14-28 degree Celsius over the mountainous region," it said.
No tropical cyclone development is expected throughout the outlook period, it added.
On the other hand, it said the easterly wave and low pressure area (LPA) are expected to be the dominant weather systems to affect Visayas and Mindanao.
“These weather systems will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout outlook period becoming widespread over western Mindanao on Monday and Tuesday (April 18 and 19), likewise widespread rains over eastern Visayas and eastern Mindanao on Friday until Sunday (April 22-24)," it added.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said the coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate except during thunderstorms during the Holy Week.
For more information, it said the public can contact the forecaster-on-duty through the following telephone numbers: 927-2877/927-1541/926-4258. — LBG, GMA News
