MANILA, Philippines - The Dallas Mavericks have shot down the Lakers' dynasty, 122-86, with a stunning sweep of their Western Conference semi-finals series.
The Mavs staged one of the most spectacular long-range shooting exhibitions in NBA playoff history, making 20 of 31 attempts from 3-point range.
Jason Terry led the barrage of playoff-record-breaking 3's during a 32-point performance.
Meantime, Kobe Bryant, who paced the Lakers to their most recent league titles, scored 17 points in his final game of the season.
His teammates, Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum were ejected for flagrant fouls in the fourth quarter.
With the win, Dallas set up a meeting for the Western Conference title against either Memphis Grizzlies or Oklahoma Thunder.
Meantime, the resilient Atlanta Hawks evened up their conference semis series with the top-seeded Chicago Bulls behind a great all-around effort from Josh Smith.
The versatile forward came through with hustle plays and timely baskets and dimes as the Hawks won game 4, 100-to-88.
Smith finished with 23 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists, along with 2 steals and the same number of blocks.
Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose led Chicago with 34 points and 10 assists.
