Rolling Stones play first New York City date

source: music-news.com

The Rolling Stones have played the first of their '50 and Counting' tour New York Shows. Yesterday (December 8) they played Brooklyn.

'We took the subway here,' Mick Jagger joked at the start of the show. 'We sat next to someone called Jay Zed'. Guests for tonight's show were Gary Clark Jr on 'Going Down' and Mary J Blige for 'Gimme Shelter' but there was no sign of earlier Stones members Bill Wyman or Mick Taylor tonight. Both played last week at the London shows.

There were no surprises. The setlist was exactly the same as the first London show but with the first two song reversed.

The setlist for the first New York show was:

I Wanna Be Your Man (1963)
The Last Time (1964)
Paint It Black (1966)

Before They Make Me Run (Keith vocals) (from Some Girls, 1978)
Happy (from Exile On Main Street, 1972)
Midnight Rambler (from Let It Bleed, 1969)
Start Me Up (from Tattoo You, 1981)
