MANILA, Philippines – Young actress Kim Chiu apologized to a fan and her friends whom she allegedly snubbed in a mall recently.
“Pasensiya na po. Hindi ko naman intention na hindi mag-hi back sa kanila. Siyempre hindi naman lahat ng tao ay napi-please ko kasi tao lang naman ako eh, may pagkukulang din,” said Kim in an interview with ABS-CBN.
The snubbing issue was brought to light by the fan’s mother who was purportedly fuming mad at Kim that she even threatened to withdraw her support from the 20-year-old Kapamilya star. The fan, the ABS-CBN report added, is a college student who was with her friends from abroad when the incident allegedly happened.
Kim, although clueless where the incident actually took place, is saddened by the news.
“Hindi ko nga alam kung saan iyan, hindi ko alam ‘yan… [Pero] nakakalungkot siyempre, kasi hindi naman lahat naririnig ko. Parang ‘Hi Kim!’ Minsan mababa lang tapos hindi ka na makaka-'hi' back so akala nila suplada or something.
“Sa amin, hindi naman namin intensyon ‘yun tsaka gusto pa rin naming kumaway sa kanila para matuwa sila,” said Kim.
Another young actress accused of snubbing fans, Andi Eigenmann, refuted the allegation in an interview with PEP. The incident was said to have taken place during a recent event in Iloilo in which she and Kim participated.
"Minsan kasi, totoong nangyari pala 'yon, pero hindi pala ako aware. Pero I don't think it's true kasi ang mga tao nakapaligid lang sila sa amin. Nasa loob kami ng mga tents. Bawat labas mo, kitang-kita mo sila. Hindi lang sila makakalapit.
"Hindi po ako nag-snub. 'Saka ba't naman ako mag-i-snub? Everytime na may magha-hi sa akin, magha-hi talaga ako,” Andi said.
She deemed that people could mistake her for a snob because of her strong mestiza features.
"Akala lang siguro nila dahil sa kilay ko kasi mataas. Inayos ko nga yung kilay ko para hindi mukhang matapang,” she kidded, and maintained, "Hindi naman talaga ako masungit. Hindi ako masungit at all.”
Although she also wishes to have private time with her friends in public, Andi said she almost always grants her fans’ requests.
"Minsan, humihingi ako ng pasensiya kasi gusto ko naman ng private time with my friends. Pero hindi nga po lagi ganoon. Pumapayag pa nga ako madalas sa mga requests. Kaya nga ako naging artista para sa kanila, tapos aayawan ko sila?” she said.
