MANILA, Philippines – President Aquino is bracing for more security problems ahead but is optimistic his government can adequately deal with them with the help of the new Malacañang war room.
The President inaugurated the Presidential Situation Room (PSR) located at the Presidential Security Group (PSG) park where he gets regular updates relating to national security.
Aquino said in times of national crisis, the PSR will serve as “nerve center of the government’s response,” centralizing information flows and assisting in the coordination of the different agencies assigned to deal with crises.
“The world can sometimes be a dangerous place. In the short time we have been in office, our administration has had its share of crises. We have seen a hostage crisis, a bus bombing, and floods in Sulu and other parts of the country. And we will face more before our time is up,” he said
